Two people, two languages?
One person speaking?
The voice translator needs JavaScript.
This voice translator puts what you say into another language one sentence at a time, each time you pause. Pick the language you speak and the one to translate to, then press the microphone and speak. Each sentence appears with your own words in small text and the translation in large text, and the translation can be read aloud. If you only need speech shown in large text in its own language, live captions does that.
Questions
Is this voice translator free?
Yes. There's no app to install and no account to make: open the page and start speaking.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes, in your phone's browser. It works best in Chrome on Android, and Safari on iPhone works too; allow the microphone when the browser asks. On a phone, Read aloud is on from the start, so the person you're talking to hears each translation.
Which languages does it support?
It supports 20 languages, and you can translate from any of them into any other: English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Mandarin), Hindi, Arabic, Russian, Turkish, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Dutch, Polish, Swedish, Thai and Ukrainian. If your phone can't read one of them aloud, you still get the translation on screen, and the page tells you.
Can two people use it?
Yes. For a quick exchange, press the swap button between the two languages when the other person answers. For a longer talk, switch to Conversation, which splits the screen into two halves, one for each person and language, each with its own microphone button.
Can I save the conversation?
Yes, as text. Copy it, or download a .txt file with every sentence in both languages. The audio isn't saved.
