SCC carries captions the way US television does: up to four rows of 32 characters, timed in 29.97 fps drop-frame timecode. Lines longer than 32 characters are rebroken to fit, and a character outside the caption character set is written without its accent, or left out if it has no plain letter. Each caption has to be loaded before it shows, so one that follows a very short caption can start a moment late.

Questions
How do I convert SRT to SCC?
Drop the SRT above and save the SCC. Nothing is uploaded.
Why were my lines rebroken?
SCC allows 32 characters per row and four rows on screen. Longer lines are split at a space so every word still shows.
Are italics kept?
Yes, and so are underline and colour, moved to the nearest of SCC's seven caption colours. Bold isn't, since SCC has none.
Which frame rate does it use?
29.97 fps drop-frame, the standard for SCC.
