Kazakh transcription
Kazakh transcription works on any recording you drop here, from a phone voice note to a long video, and returns the Kazakh as text.
Transcription is free within your daily minutes
It uses your free daily minutes, and you confirm before it starts. A subtitle file dropped here is converted instead.

The preview below re-renders as soon as you change this.
This format stores times as frame numbers, so it has no meaning without a rate. We don't guess one.

Kazakh transcription comes back in Cyrillic, the alphabet most Kazakh is still written in, as a draft you'll need to correct. Expect a fair number of wrong words, and read it against the recording before you use it. Kazakhstan is moving to a Latin alphabet, but the transcript isn't converted to it.
Questions
Which script does it write in?
Cyrillic. Kazakhstan is phasing in a Latin alphabet, but this page writes Kazakh in Cyrillic.
My recording mixes Kazakh and Russian. Will that work?
Use audio to text for that. This page expects Kazakh throughout, so Russian passages can come out wrong; audio to text works out the language for itself.
Does it translate Kazakh into English?
Yes: translate audio to English gives you the speech in English. This page keeps the text in Kazakh.
Is it free?
Yes: 90 minutes a day, no account.
About Kazakh recordings
- Script
- Cyrillic alphabet with extra letters such as ә, ғ and қ, written left to right; a Latin alphabet is being introduced.
- Spoken in
- Kazakhstan, and Kazakh communities in China, Mongolia, Uzbekistan and Russia.
- Subtitle tip
- ә, ғ and қ need a UTF-8 subtitle file; Windows-1251, the older Cyrillic encoding, lacks them.
