This audio cutter keeps only the part of a song, voice note or recording you want. Drag the start and end handles on the waveform, nudge either one by a tenth of a second with the buttons beside it, and press Play the selection to hear the cut before you save it. Fade in and Fade out soften a cut that starts or stops in the middle of a sound. Save the part as an MP3 at 128, 192 or 320 kbps, or as a WAV.
Questions
Is the audio cutter free?
Yes, with no sign-up and no watermark.
Does this MP3 cutter work on my phone?
Yes, in Chrome on Android and Safari on iPhone. Drag the handles with a finger or tap the waveform to move the nearer one there, then use the −0.1 s and +0.1 s buttons to place them exactly. If your browser can't play a file's sound, the page says so as soon as you pick it; WAV files work in every browser.
Which files can I cut?
MP3, M4A, WAV, AAC, OGG, Opus and FLAC, plus the sound from MP4, MOV, MKV and WebM videos. AIFF, AMR, WMA and Apple Lossless files don't open here.
Can I cut the sound out of a video?
Yes. Load the video and the cutter works on its sound, which you save as MP3 or WAV. To keep a video's whole soundtrack as it is, use extract audio from video.
Is there a size limit?
No limit is set, but a long cut saved as WAV gets big: an hour of stereo WAV is over 600 MB, against about 144 MB as a 320 kbps MP3. On a phone, save long cuts as MP3, or use a computer.
