To translate English to Spanish audio, drop an English recording or video, or press Record, and read the Spanish as text or subtitles. Every Spanish line keeps the start and end time of the English one, so the subtitles stay in sync with the video. Accents, ñ and the opening ¿ and ¡ come through in the subtitle files, which are saved as UTF-8, the encoding modern players read. The English stays on the transcript page as well, in a tab of its own.
Questions
Can I download both the English and the Spanish?
Yes. The transcript page has two tabs, English and Spanish, and each one downloads as TXT, SRT, VTT, Word or PDF.
Does it speak the Spanish?
No. You get the Spanish as text and subtitles, with no voice. There's no dubbing or voice-over.
What if the recording is already in Spanish?
Then Spanish transcription is the page you want: it writes the Spanish down as it was spoken. To go the other way, use translate Spanish to English audio.
Is it free?
Yes, with no account. It uses the free 90 minutes a day, one for each minute of audio. A file can run to 90 minutes, with the audio under 95 MB.
