Questions

How do I add an SRT file to an MP4?

Drop both above, check how the captions look in the preview, and save. The new MP4 has them in the picture, so they show in every player and app.

Can I add the SRT as a track people can switch off?

Not here: this page burns them in. For switchable subtitles, give the SRT the same name as the MP4 and keep them in the same folder. VLC, Plex and most TVs then load it by themselves.

Does it work with MOV and MKV too?

Yes, as long as your browser can play the video. MOV, MKV and WebM go in as well. The copy comes out as MP4, or WebM if your browser can't make MP4.

How long does it take?

It depends on your computer and the length of the video. A progress bar shows how far it's got.
