Interview transcription turns a recorded conversation into text you can quote from. Drop the audio or video, paste a link if the interview is already online, or press Record and capture it in the room. The language is detected for you, and the transcript downloads as text, Word, SRT or VTT. Speakers aren't labelled, so the names are yours to add.

Questions

Does it label who's speaking?

No. You get every word in order, without names. The Word download sets each line in a table beside its start and end time, which makes adding names by hand quick.

Can I record the interview here?

Yes. Press Record, let the conversation run, then press stop and Transcribe. Keep the page open and the screen on while it records.

How long can an interview be?

Up to 90 minutes per file, with the audio under 95 MB.

Which languages does it work in?

Close to a hundred, and the language is detected by itself, so there's nothing to set. For an interview in one language, you can also use that language's own page, such as Spanish transcription.

Can I translate the transcript?

Yes, with the Translate button on the transcript page. Pick a language, and the translation downloads as text, SRT, VTT, Word or PDF, like the original.
