Swahili transcription covers recordings from Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and the rest of East Africa, written in Latin letters. Expect to correct a fair amount of the result. As a first draft it still saves most of the typing.
Questions
My recording mixes Swahili and English. Will that work?
Use audio to text instead. This page expects Swahili throughout, so English parts can come out badly; audio to text works out the language by itself.
Does it translate Swahili into English?
Yes, with translate audio to English, but the English inherits the mistakes in the Swahili, so check it. This page keeps the text in Swahili.
Can I get Swahili subtitles from a video?
Yes. Drop the video and download SRT or VTT, then fix any lines in the subtitle editor.
Is it free?
Yes, up to 90 minutes a day with no account.
